The society made this declaration via a press statement signed by its Amir, Mallam Hussayn Adepoju and Public Relations Officer, Mallam AbdulRahman Elegbede.

The statement was obtained by our correspondent on Thursday.

Recall that the MSSN had earlier raised an alarm over alleged denial of some female Muslim students the right to use Hijab in the institution.

It was learnt that the Provost and other stakeholders have addressed the issue.

We have no plan to segregate against Muslim students – Provost

MSSN in its reaction, commended the Provost and the Special Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State on Islamic Affairs, Imam Abdulrasheed Abdulazzez.

The MSSN in the statement noted that its engagement with the provost revealed that he is a man of integrity and
a peace-loving individual who stands by his principles without any iota of
compromise.

The statement reads “In the past few weeks, the leadership of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Oyo State Area Unit, has been addressing reports of the victimization of female Muslim students who choose to wear the veil (niqab) at the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Ibadan (FCAH&PTIB).

“In response to these concerns, the MSSN Oyo Unit issued two press
statements and formally petitioned several stakeholders to express its strong disapproval of the situation. These actions received considerable attention from both the general public and the institution’s management, under the capable leadership of Dr. Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo.

“Several meetings have been held with the college management, aimed at
finding a lasting solution to the issue while upholding the rights of all students.

“We also acknowledge and commend the Special Adviser to the Governor of
Oyo State on Islamic Affairs, Imam Abdulrasheed Abdulazzez, whose
intervention has been both vibrant and impactful. Indeed, Governor Engr.
‘Seyi Makinde has entrusted this crucial role to a highly competent individual.

“We deeply appreciate the provost’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity,
as he has taken time out of his busy schedule to address our concerns. His leadership has demonstrated a genuine commitment to ensuring that all
students are treated with dignity, free from any form of discrimination.

“Our engagement with the provost revealed that he is a man of integrity and
a peace-loving individual who stands by his principles without any iota of
compromise”.
