Ambassador Segun Lawal emerges VP FCT market Association, makes new promises

After only two years as the chairman of Kaura market in Abuja, Nigerian young entrepreneur and businessman, Comrade Ambassador Segun Lawal has emerged as the vice chairman of Abuja Market/Traders Association.

Recall that Comrade Lawal, a professional graphic designer and publisher won an election on December 12, 2022 when he became the chairman of Traders and Artisans Association of Kaura Market in Abuja.

The Association held its election on Monday, December 12, 2022 where Lawal won with 267 votes against his opponent who scored 25 votes.

The free and fair election was monitored by personnel of the Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS) and private security outfits.

In his victory speech, Lawal had promised the following: “The first thing I want to do is to carry out massive advertisement of the market itself. Many people do not know that a market exists here. I intend to mount a big billboard of the market for people to know that there is a market in this area. We will ensure constant light and water in the market and I will run all-inclusive government by carrying everybody along so that business will be smoothly run.”

Just only two years after, and based on his antecedent, Comrade Lawal has again emerged as the Vice chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Traders, NANTS.

During his inauguration which recently took place, Mr Lawal recounted his achievements as Kaura Market chairman, promising to even do better in his new elevated role.

He said at Kaura, he had installed billboards as promised and restored sanity in the market.

” I had done a lot in the past one or two years. I have restored sanity in the market, erected signposts and billboards to further advertise the market.

“Today, the market is now the cynosure of all eyes because we have now made it what it should be. Marketing is closely associated with advertisment and that is what we have done and I hope the traders are happy with what we have done so far.

” I know that holding double positions is not easy, but we have the capacity and the competence to deal with issues in both Kaura and Abuja as a whole. We are bringing the experience to bear in managing the Abuja Market and like said, the same sanity we brought into Kaura, we shall take take to FCT as a whole.”

Envisioning new challenges, the publisher said:

“We know it won’t be easy as there are miscreants in Abuja markets whom we need to evict and to holistically sanitize the system. This won’t come easy, but with my experience and that of my chairman and the other executive members, we will ensure we deliver on our mandates,” Comrade Segun assured.
