Appeal Court: Imo APC loses two serving lawmakers

Must read

Court of Appeal sitting in Mararaba, Nasarawa state on Thursday nullified the victory of two APC lawmakers in Imo state; second-timer Eddy Obinna of Aboh-Mbaise state constituency and Ugochukwu Obodo of Owerri Municipal.

The legislators were declared winners of the March 18 Imo state House of Assembly election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The PDP candidate for Aboh-Mbaise, Stanley Amuchie and that of Labour Party in Owerri Municipal, Clinton Amadi, had approached the Court claiming that they won the election but were rigged out.

The duo also won at the lower Court.

With the declaration of the two as winners of the election by the Appear Court, the current 10th Imo House of Assembly is made up of 23 APC, two PDP members, one Accord Party member and a Labour Party member.

Meanwhile, some other lawmakers are said to be gripped with fear as the Appeal Court will soon deliver judgement on their cases.
