The Senate has confirmed Mr Olayemi Cardoso as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The confirmation came of Tuesday at plenary.
Other nominees who were confirmed as Deputies to Olayemi are: Emem Usoro, Muhammad Abdullahi-Dattijo Philip Ikeazor and Bala Bello.
After some hours of closed-door meeting presided by the Senate President, Godswill Obot AkpabÃo, the Senate made the confirmation.
The CBN governor’s confirmation comes amid a free fall of the Naira to dollars.
Some of the senators Jimoh Ibrahim, Adams Oshiomhole and Elisha Abbo expressed their dissatisfaction and urged the new CBN team to work towards the rescue of the Naira.
