Taraba Gov’t announces new welfare packages for NYSC members

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has announced a series of new welfare packages for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.

The Governor disclosed this in a statement shared on his X’s (formally known as Twitter) handle on Sunday.

He said that the significant announcement of enhanced welfare package for NYSC members underscores the state government’s dedication to the welfare and growth of its youth, as well as its determination to strengthen the educational sector in Taraba.

The statement reads, “These new welfare packages represent an emergency response to the educational challenges faced by Taraba State. The measures are aligned with the state’s unwavering commitment to improving access to quality education, nurturing youth development, and securing a brighter future for the state’s youth”- He said.

These initiatives reflect a total commitment of N245,000 for each NYSC member during their service year.

Governor Kefas detailed the enhanced allowances for NYSC members as follows:

An additional monthly allowance of N10,000.

A one-time payment of N50,000 as a medical allowance.

An accommodation allowance of N25,000 per term, amounting to N75,000 for three terms.

Automatic job opportunities for outstanding NYSC members.
