The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Felix Ogbonna Igboke has commenced inspection of Ring Road project in the state.
The Commissioner who was led with the Projects Monitoring team to different sites first started from 135 in Ohaukwu Local Government Area to another Lot known as Lot 1 leading to Nkomoru in Ezza North LGA and from there to Onueke in Ezza South Local Government Area down to Ikwo LGA.
The team also inspected Igwe Liga road leading to Haraca and Ugwuachara roads.
Speaking during the inspection, Igboke frown at the poor level of work going on mostly in Lot 1 but, however, encouraged the representative of Emmy Bless Construction Ltd, Engr. Emengo Emmanuel to put more effort and warned against shoddy job adding that any attempt to compromise quality would be viewed seriously.
Enger Igboke also commended the contractor handling Onueke Ikwo road for the level of work done at the same time pointed out mistakes in some parts of the road and directed the site engineer of Reinforced Global Resources Ltd, Engr. Yusuff Busari to correct those mistakes.
The Commissioner who again observed an earth crack on the road side of Re Meritona Hotel likewise directed the site engineer, Moses Uguru to do the needful in order to avoid collapsing of the road after construction and directed to equally fill the back of the hotel before casting.
He insisted that every work done must be properly done and the bill of quantities of the two companies must be collected for proper check to ensure that they conformed to the contract specifications.
On her part, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Henrietta Ikechukwu-Oruh noted that the stones used by Reinforce Global Resources Ltd mixed with dust and directed the site engineer to let the supplier know about it for necessary action.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Builder Chukwuma Nwiboko advocated good start in every work which he said would help them not to do double job.
On his part Engr. Godwin Ukpo also disclosed that Kataka Constructor handling Nkomoru Onueke Road that is about 15.3 kilometers was not in site stressing that it has been handed over to CBC and they are mobilizing to site soon.
