Nigerian Senate on Thursday accepted the nomination of the Service Chiefs after they were transmitted to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The confirmation followed the screening by the Committee of the whole which was presided over by the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabío.
The nominees were earlier asked to introduce themselves, which they did.
The Senate then went into a close-door section to interface with the nominees on security-related issues.
After three hours of the meeting, the Senate reopened Chambers for debate at about 3.00, after which the confirmation was done.
Those confirmed through voice votes include: Major General Christopher G Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, Major General T.A Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal H. B. Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff and Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Chief Naval Staff.
