Must read

Again, armed gunmen targeted the peaceful Yangoji village in the Kwali area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and abducted a seven-year-old girl. The invasion occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving the residents in fear and distress.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the hoodlums stormed the village, unleashing a hail of gunfire before breaking into several houses and snatching the young girl. However, thanks to the prompt response of a police team, the gunmen were compelled to hastily flee the scene, preventing further harm to the community.

The Kwali Divisional Police headquarters swiftly answered the distress call, dispatching personnel to confront the attackers at approximately 5 am. Acting in tandem with local hunters and vigilance members, led by the determined Kwali Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the security team skillfully repelled the assailants during a fierce gun battle. Nevertheless, the abductors managed to escape with the young girl.

In the wake of the incident, the security forces have initiated a thorough search operation in the area, with the primary objective of rescuing the kidnapped girl and apprehending the perpetrators. The collective efforts of the police, hunters, and vigilance members remain focused on restoring safety and bringing the culprits to justice.

Our reporter reached out to Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the FCT, for further details. The PPRO assured that she would provide an update as soon as she gathers comprehensive information regarding the incident.
