The leadership of Asiwaju Youth Congress (AYC), formerly known as Alliance Youth Congress, on Saturday urged Sen. Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, to be magnanimous in victory and start building more bridges to ensure seamless victory in 2023 elections.

Alhaji Mohammed Lawal, the President of AYC, made this appeal in a congratulatory message to Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, who won the Presidential primary election on Wednesday in Abuja.

“We want to use this medium to congratulate the leader of the progressives in Nigerian politics and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his well-deserved and hard fought victory, as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“You have been consistent like the northern star in your quest for a better Nigeria on the progressive turf, and your consistency, doggedness and foresight paid off handsomely, with the result you garnered at the convention.

“Now that the primaries are over sir, you need to be magnanimous in victory and start building bridges and let’s work as a team, towards winning the General Elections in 2023,” Lawal said.

He applauded Tinubu’s visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, and one of his fellow contestants, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, shortly after his emergence as winner.

According to him, Tinubu must work the talk, on his word that he bears no grudge against anyone.

“We urge you to please work the talk and extend an open arm to all, and bring everybody on board to achieve victory in 2023.

“We shall continue to work for you and support your ambition till victory is achieved in 2023,” Lawal added.

He promised that the group would equally continue to support Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, to also win by landslide in 2023.

Lawal said the group would soon roll out its programme of actions, to project the candidacy of Tinubu.

He said AYC was looking forward to a free, fair and credible general elections in 2023 in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Tinubu, one of the national leaders of the ruling party defeated 12 other presidential aspirants, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to clinch the APC ticket.(NAN)
