Benue APC Chairman, Agada reacts to attack in Benue

Must read

Benue State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Austin Agada has reacted to the attack on him seen in a viral video.

Speaking with AFRIPOST on Saturday, Austin denied that he was attacked.

According to him, “The party members only created a scene to give the impression that he was attacked just because they were working for their paymasters”.

A video had earlier emerged and circulated by a Facebook user, Tivta Samuel Res-Sattuga, with a caption, “Benue APC State Chairman, Mr Austin Agada beaten to coma by party members in his LGA of Ogbadibo, Benue state.

“This is the kind of beating you get as an imposed Chairman of your party”.

On his part, Ogbadibo APC Chairman, Hon Francis Abah Ugwu, said there was no primary election in Ogbadibo, alleging that Agada forged results of election from Ogbadibo and announced it afterwards.

Ugwu said that was what angered Ogbadibo party members when the State Chairman came to them, as heard in the video.

He confirmed that there were no electoral materials for Ogbadibo, yet he (Agada) went to announce fake results of APC primary election from the local government.

The Ogbadibo APC Chairman also alleged that Agada has been parading his brother as the Ogbadibo party Chairman instead of him being the authentic Ogbadibo APC Chairman as known by the party national secretariat, State secretariat and down to the local government levels.

He said further that the local government party leaders, Chief Audu Ogbe, Chief Lawani, and Chief Anthony Obekpa among others all featured him in the party scheme of affairs as the chairman but Agada prefers to parade his brother, Andrew Edache as his own chairman and as such, does not relate any party affairs to him.

Ugwu said that Ogbadibo party members were heading to Joy FM to remove Ogbadibo APC from whatever list submitted by Agada, saying that the party leadership position is very clear that there was no primary election, direct or indirect, in Ogbadibo.

He lamented the way Agada is controlling Benue State APC and at the same time controlling Ogbadibo party affairs as though there was no elected chairman.

He called on the party leadership to call Agada to order and not to let his personal emotion and sentiments jeopardize the party’s chances in the coming general elections in Ogbadibo.
