Exclusive: ASUU strike: Nigerian students to block Abuja, other roads again

Following the extension of the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, for another 2 months, Nigerian students may be returning to the streets in protest.

This was disclosed by the NANS coordinator, South West, Comrade Tegbe Steven Fiyinfoluwa, who said that going by their zoom meeting which held on Monday, March 15, 2022, the students may likely embark on a fresh movement against the Nigerian government and ASUU.

Speaking exclusively to Afripost.ng, he said that a position from their Monday meeting would soon be made public.

According to him:

“We, at the zonal level cannot take a decision outside the position of the national body. We had a zoom meeting yesterday and I expect that the national leadership will soon make this public.

“Whatever that is the outcome of the meeting, we will implement, but I assure you that if everything fails and ASUU and the federal government refuse to shift grounds, we will then return to the streets. There is no doubt about that.

Tegbe promised to send a formal statement that would be issued by the union to Afripost.ng as soon as it is ready.
