BREAKING: Nigerian universities to remain shut down as ASUU extends strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said its warning strike will continue for another 8 weeks.

According to a DAILY POST report, the union took the decision during its National Executive Council, NEC, meeting held in Abuja, last night.

A member of the union who spoke on condition of anonymity, the two months is to give the Federal Government space to meet their demands.

ASUU strike started on February 14, and was expected to run for a one month.

The strike was due to the Federal Government’s continuous failure to meet the union’s demands and the agreement it had reached with the government.
