President Muhammadu Buhari’s social media aide, Lauretta Onochie, has reacted to the recent comment by a Nigerian music star, Wizkid calling the president an “old man”.
Mrs Lauretta described the singer’s comment as “crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness”.
Recall that Wizkid had in a recent Twitter post, reacted to the worrying case of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) brutality, telling president Buhari to concentrate on ending indiscriminate killings by SARS and worry less about US president Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump is not your business! Old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something! Nothing concern u for America! Face your country !!” he tweeted.
Wizkid’s comment was preceded by president Buharis’s tweet wishing the US President a quick recovery after him (Trump) and his wife tested positive for the deadly virus (COVID-19).
In reaction to Wizkid’s comment, Mrs Laurreta said: “It’s not disrespectful to call anyone old. It’s the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
“He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid.
“When he grows up, he might learn respect.”
