Oyo overtakes Lagos as NCDC confirms 591 new COVID-19 cases

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has said that 591 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Friday with Oyo having the highest daily cases.

NCDC while making the announcement on Friday night via its verified Facebook page said that Oyo State recorded 191 new cases while Lagos the Nigeria epicentre has 168 cases.

With the development, Nigeria now has 38,539 confirmed cases since the virus was imported into the country early this year.

However, no fewer than 16,559 patients have been successfully treated and discharged from various isolation centered across the country.

Meanwhile, 845 patients have died of the coronavirus related complications.
