Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has congratulated his Edo state counterpart, Godwin Obaseki, for emerging as the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the September governorship election.
Governor Ortom made the congratulatory remark on Friday in a statement signed and made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase.
According to the statement, governor Ortom said Obaseki’s victory in the peaceful and transparent primaries affirms the internal democracy within PDP and the party’s capacity to provide greater development for Edo people under the present administration.
He expressed optimism that Governor Obaseki will maximize the goodwill and confidence Edo people have in him and continue to selflessly serve them in the next four years, when re-elected.
He called on the people of Edo to sustain their support for Governor Obaseki to enable him to succeed.
