A fire broke out late Wednesday evening at Radio Nigeria’s office located on Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but emergency responders, including firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation.
Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that the agency was alerted around 5:30 PM.
Firefighters from the Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Onitolo Fire Stations rushed to the site to battle the blaze, which had consumed the studio section of the building.
In a statement, Adeseye assured the public that, thanks to coordinated efforts with the Federal Fire Service and other emergency agencies, including the Nigerian Police, the fire was contained within the studio section of the U-shaped, one-story building.
While the cause of the fire remains undetermined and no casualties have been reported, efforts to extinguish lingering embers are ongoing.
