He’s doing what his people want – Rivers Special Adviser defends Gov Fubara against APC Chairman’s accusations

Must read

Darlington Orji, Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Political Affairs and Strategy, has said that the Governor is generally accepted by the residents of the state because he is doing what they want.

Orji was reacting to the allegations raised against Fubara by the state APC Chairman, Tony Okocha.

AFRIPOST reports that Okocha, in a press briefing on Tuesday, labeled Fubara’s administration “visionless” and accused them of frivolous spending.

Also, responding, Orji stated that Fubara is focused on making Rivers State a model and is making efforts to promote civil servants and pay workers and pensioners their salary arrears and gratuities.

Speaking further, Orji made reference on the ongoing road and bridge construction projects, the rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital, and the reopening of the employment project at Ignatius Aguru University as some of Fubara’s notable achievements.

He stressed that the Governor is not distracted by such accusations and remains committed to fulfilling the needs and desires of the people of Rivers State.

“The governor has ensured that construction of roads and bridges are ongoing in Alesha Road in Eleme,” he said, as quoted by NAN on Friday.

“When you go to Bori internal roads, you will see the signature of the governor, which shows that he is focused and not ready to be distracted

“I thank God that Okocha agreed that the governor is carrying out the ring road project; the ring road is one of the signature projects of the governor.

“Gov Fubara is focused, and he believes in the feelings of the people, that is why he directed that the local government workers should be promoted and paid the 30 percent minimum wage.

“The governor is generally accepted by the people because he is doing what the people want.

“We can see the rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital ordered by the governor, and the reopening of the employment project at the Ignatius Aguru University and other programmes done by his administration.”
