NCC partners with Swedish Govt to develop Nigerian Telecoms sector

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has initiated a partnership with the Sweden government to improve the telecommunications industry in Nigeria.

Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, disclosed this after a recent meeting with the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Annika Hahn-Englund.

The NCC boss revealed that the ongoing collaboration between the NCC and Sweden is focusing on capacity building and skills development.

He stressed the importance of knowledge exchange, in line with the strategic plan of the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.

Dr. Maida highlighted the opportunities for NCC staff to learn from their Swedish counterparts and implement best practices in the sector.

On her part, Ambassador Hahn-Englund reaffirmed the Swedish Embassy’s commitment to strengthening the relationship with Nigeria, emphasizing the mutual benefits of improved diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Dr. Maida’s proactive approach in establishing partnerships with countries worldwide, including Sweden, demonstrates his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.
