Congress of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (CSCSN) has appealed to the chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences commission (ICPC) Dr. Musa Aliyu not to allow his office for proxy war.
The association made this declaration via a letter addressed to the Chairman and made available to our correspondent on Thursday.
National Coordinator of CSCSN, Comrade Andrew Emelieze in the statement, said that the association was surprised to hear of the charges brought against the President of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (SCSN) Comrade Bola Innocent Audu in court by ICPC.
Emelieze said that the issue in question is a matter of industrial relations which ordinarily, is supposed to be handled by the national Industrial Court.
He added that that the national Industrial Court is already handling issues of the crisis rocking the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).
Emelieze said, “As concerned members of the union, we are surprised to hear of the charges (CR/738/2023) brought against Comrade Bola Innocent Audu in court by your agency.
“Sir, the issues in question are foremost, , matters of industrial relations which ordinarily, is supposed to be handled by the national Industrial Court. Moreso, the national Industrial Court is already handling issues of the crisis rocking the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).
“Sir, we believe that this charges against Comrade Bola is a sponsored one. It is very obvious that some powerful forces in ASCSN are trying to us the ICPC for a diversionary purpose.
“On our part, we call for a deeper thought
on the charges and also an immediate investigation of your officers involved in this case, we believe strongly that your officers are compromised and that they have personal interest in the matter. It is equally very important that the ICPC investigate the so called CSO (AHGGW)
as it has shown clearly that they are out to mislead the ICPC and the public.
“Our special appeal is that the ICPC should not allow itself to be used for a proxy war. This present scenario is similar to the trump up charges brought against Comrade Bola Innocent Audu by NAPTIP sponsored by some powerful mafia forces in ASCSN but in the end Comrade Bola triumphed in court”.
