The current economic hardship facing the country has taken a new dimension as some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Sunday, raided a warehouse belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria, NEMA.
It was gathered that the hungry residents looted the warehouse, located in Karimo, Phase 3 region of the FCT, Abuja, on Sunday morning and carted away foodstuffs and other items.
Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to the area to disperse the looters and secure the building.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, stated that the situation had been brought under control.
“The situation is now under control,” she said.
