Ighodalo emerges official PDP Candidate for Edo guber poll

Barrister Asue Ighodalo emerged as the winner of the Edo State PDP governorship primary, which was conducted by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and monitored by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the Samuel Ogbomudia Stadium lawn tennis court.

Prior to the voting by delegates, two aspirants, Barrister Omosede Igbinedion and Rt. Hon. Ogbeide Ihama, withdrew from the contest.

The scores announced by the Electoral Committee after counting are as follows:

  • Anslem Ojezua: 0

  • Felix Akhabue: 0

  • Philip Shuaibu: 1

  • Ambassador Martins: 0

  • Barrister Esene: 0

  • Asue Ighodalo: 577

  • Omosede: Withdrew

  • Ogbeide Ihama: Withdrew

  • Void votes: 6

With this outcome, Barrister Asue Ighodalo emerged as the clear winner of the primary election with a significant margin of 577 votes.
