AFCON: Presidency hails Super Eagles as Nigeria qualifies for finals

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria Team for triumphantly defeating South Africa at the African Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles on Wednesday night, strode progressively to the finals of the African Cup of Nations after winning against South Africa, ‘Bafana Bafana’ on the statute of penalty kicks at the Stade de la Paix (Stadium of Peace) in Bouake, Ivory Coast.

Commending the Super Eagles for attaining a score victory of ‘4’ against team Bafana Bafana who scored ‘2’ on a penalty kick, coming after a full-time drew game of 1-1.

The Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga congratulated the good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the feat thus far. He lauded the “Super Eagles for making the AFCON 2023 final and surviving South Africa’s scare.”

The presidency, however, urged the soccer stars not to relent in putting in more effort that’ll emerge them victorious, he prayed that “God will surely help you lift the fourth AFCON Cup in Abidjan at the Weekend.”

In a separate report, to rekindle the spirit of Nigeria Soccer Players, the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan-Enoh had on Wednesday secured a whooping sum of 200 Million Naira for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Owan disclosed that the donation was a coalition from the Progressive Governors Forum to the Super Eagles who are currently in Cote d’Ivoire for the AFCON 2023.

Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) is a forum of Nigerian governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), currently chaired by the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
