Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, well known as Davido has congratulated South African female singer, Tyla, for winning the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday.
Tyla’s song, ‘Water’ beat ‘Amapiano’ by Asake and Olamide; ‘City Boys’ by Burna Boy. ‘Unavailable’ by Davido featuring Musa Keys; and ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr to win the award.
On his X handle early Monday, Davido express his joy, despite losing out on all three nominations.
“Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa! Big One for africa! Keep soaring!” the tweet read.
