The five-member panel of the Supreme Court on Wednesday, upheld the election of Ahmadu Fintiri as Adamawa State governor.
The court dismissed the appeal by Aisha Dahiru aka Binani, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The court in the ruling led by John Okoro, said Binani’s appeal lacked merit.
The court also condemned the conduct of the state former Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari.
Ari had earlier declared Binani winner of the election, describing it as irresponsible and criminal.
Okoro noted that the exclusive power to announce election results lies with the Returning Officer and not the REC.
