The Rivers State House of Assembly has rescreened and cleared nine former commissioners.
The rescreened commissioners had resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet in the wake of the political crisis in the state.
The commissioners, in November 2023, tendered their resignation letters amid the face-off between Fubara and his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
However, Fubara, a few days ago, resubmitted the names of the nine nominees to the State House of Assembly for clearance.
During plenary on Wednesday, the former commissioners were asked to take ‘a bow and leave’ the chamber.
