Operatives of the Nigerian army have rescued the 45 abducted passengers along Otukpo, Enugu.

AFRIPOST reported that about 45 passengers on Thursday, in three commercial vehicles were abducted by unknown gunmen along Otukpo -Enugu Road in Orokam of Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State.
The gunmen reportedly raided commercial vehicles along Otukpo -Enugu Road and forced drivers and passengers into the bush.
According to a source, who narrowly escaped being kidnapped, “it was easy for the armed men to stop the vehicles because that portion of the road is very bad.
The report also said that the abductors have already opened negotiations with family members of the kidnapped passengers for the payment of ransom for their release.
Sources said they initially asked for N15 million for each passenger and later settled for N3m for each of the passengers.
However, a family source who confirmed the freedom of the kidnapping victims said that the abductors are still demanding that ransom be paid through POS, despite being rescued by the Nigerian army.
