Must read

Barely 48 hours after some gunmen abducted the father of the vice chairman of Kwali Area Council of the FCT, eight other women have been abducted on a farm in Gwombe village, in Gwargwada Chiefdom, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Reports said that the father of the vice chairman of Kwali Area Council was abducted alongside six others in Yewuti village in Kwali.

A source, speaking on the abduction of the eight women, said the incident happened around 5:00 pm on Monday.

He explained that the women, all housewives, were harvesting benni seed when the gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles appeared and surrounded them.

Confirming the abduction is a community leader, who pleaded anonymity, stressing that four of the women are from one house.

He alleged, “I suspect that these gunmen that abducted our women are among those ones that escaped from neighbouring Kabbi village who were roaming inside the bush after Miyetti Allah vigilantes neutralised some of them over the weekend.”

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, could not respond when contacted over the incident.
