Sanction Israel, boycott their products – Oyo Muslims tell UN, human rights crusaders

Muslims in Oyo state under the auspices of Oyo State Muslim Community have advised the United Nations and human rights crusaders to without wasting more time sanction Israel and boycott all products from the country.

They made these declarations during a protest held at the premises of Ibadan Central Mosque located at Oja Oba Ibadan.

The protest was organised by the Muslim community in conjunction with Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), NACOMYO among others.

The protest was held in solidarity with Palestinians on Friday.

There had been crisis between the Israeli and Palestinians in the last few decades.

The conflict between the two groups is ongoing as at present.

Some Muslims in Oyo state however on Friday described the invasion of Palestine by the Israeli as an attempt to forcefully take over the land and suppress the people of the country.

They called on the UN and human rights crusaders to sanction Israel and boycott all products from the country.

Spokesperson for the protesters, Barrister Abdulrasheed Atta while addressing journalists, maintained that the protest was organised in order to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

He added that if nothing is done, the UN will loose grip of the world.

Atta said, “We are here to show our displeasure regarding the onslaught and oppression of the Palestinians whose land has been taken since 1948. So, we are showing our solidarity in support of the oppressed. In the history, human beings are equal.

“We are telling the UN to sanction Israel. If they are not sanctioned, they will turn the UN to a paper tiger. Because, if nothing is done, they will loose their grip of the world. If UN is not careful, they will loose the grip of the world.

“So, they should sanction Israel am the sanction should not be limited to Israel, by extension America and its allies.

“So, we are calling on them to sanction Israel, then those who are advocates of human rights should boycott Israel products”.
