Ebonyi NUJ commends Gov Nwifuru for approval to renovate Council’s Secretariat, donation of bus

The Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Ebonyi State chapter has  commended Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for accepting the Council’s request to renovate it’s Secretariat.

The Council gave the commendation in a communique signed by the state chairman, Comrade Samson Nwafor at the end of its annual Council Congress held in Abakailiki recently.

Nwafor commended the Nwifuru for being sensitive to the challenges facing the Council by approving her request to renovate the Council’s Secretariat which is in a deplorable condition.

He also thanked the Governor for donating a brand new 2023 latest model of Toyota Hiace bus to the Council to enable her carry out her statutory duties.

The Union also congratulated the state Governor on his 100 days in office with a laudable achievements. He assured the Governor of continious support of the Council in his effort to transforming Ebonyi state.

Urge members to continue in exhibiting the high level of professionalism in their discharge during their duties, ensuring balance report and development when reporting at all time as the way of contributing his or her quoters in governorship of Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s led administration in the State.

The Union during the Congress set up a 17-man Planning Committee  to plan this year Press Week scheduled to hold on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

The state chairman charged members of the Committee to work as a team to ensure that they give the Council the best with interesting activities that will make the event one of its kind.

The Union also congratulated Mrs Fortunate Ozo for being selected among the 12 female journalists from one 117 valid applications submitted within Nigeria and three African countries that participated in the Women Female Reporters’ Leadership Programme Fellowship Champion building edition of the Wole Soyinka Center For Investigative Journalism.
