Yoruba elders call for Akintoye, Sunday Igboho’s return from involuntary exile

Must read

The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government to free Yoruba Nation agitators, Chief Sunday Igboho and Professor Banji Akintoye from involuntary exile.

The Yoruba elders spoke in a communique on Saturday signed by YCE scribe Elder Oladipo Oyewole and Publicity Secretary Elder Niyi Ajibulu at the end of the council’s meeting of the Secretary-General and state secretaries, which was held in Ado Ekiti, Naija News reports.

AFRIPOST reports that Igboho was arrested along side his wife on their way to Germany in Benin Republic after a raid on his Ibadan residence.

The elders faulted the Buhari-led federal government for harassing Akintoye and Igboho for advocating proper and dignified treatment of their law-abiding kinsmen.
