A chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has said that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state will spend two consecutive terms in office as governor.

Oguntoyinbo, noted that he and other leaders of the party are not losing any sleep over the judgement of the Kano State Governorship Election Tribunal that nullified Yusuf’s election as Governor of Kano State.

He added that he has confidence that Yusuf will spend two terms of eight years as Governor of the state.

Oguntoyinbo made these declarations while speaking with journalists on Friday in his Ibafo office, Ogun State.

He said that the reaction of the residents of Kano State to the Tribunal’s judgement is an indication that the people are still with Abba Yusuf and they appreciated the good works he has started.

He said the manner of delivering the judgement from an unknown place through Zoom showed that the Judges themselves know that the people of Kano are with Abba Yusuf.

Oguntoyinbo, who was the 2023 governorship candidate of NNPP in Ogun State insisted that the judgement cannot stand the test of time.

He said, “Our party is appaling with the Tribunal’s judgement and we are confident of winning at the Court of Appeal. I am assuring every Nigerians that our amiable governor, Abba Yusuf will serve the people of Kano State Constitutional two terms. It is going to be four plus four, (4+4) by the Grace of God.

“I want all residents of Kano State to please maintain the peace. NNPP is a law abiding party. Our presidential candidate, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso is a peace loving person, so also is our governor, His Excellency Abba Yusuf.

“We have the believe and trust in the Judiciary and we know we won all elections in Kano State fairly and genuinely. We know the judgement is a temporary thing and it will not deter Gov Abba Yusuf from continuing the good job he has started since May 29.

“Our leaders are taking the right steps, the peaceful steps to set aside the Tribunal’s judgement and we plead with Kano residents to maintain the peace and patiently await our victory at the Court of Appeal “.
