Gov Otti gifts Judges SUV cars, prioritises judges’ welfares in Abia

Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, has restated his administration’s committment in prioritizing the welfare of members of the judiciary arm of government in the state.

He demonstrated his government’s resolve by handing over keys and papers of the sports utility (SUV) vehicles to judges in the state.

Governor Otti who stated this on Tuesday, while handing over keys and papers of the Sports utility vehicles (SUV) to Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Lilian Abai, at a brief ceremony held in premise of the State High Court in Umuahia.

He was represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajaba flanked by some functionaries of government.

The State Chief Executive explained that the gesture was in fulfillment of his electoral promises to ensure that Abia judges and other officials of the judiciary are treated with dignity and properly taken care of, as a way of upholding their status and motivating them to render effective services.

Otti further stated that he has never hidden his love and respect for the judiciary and assured of his administration’s determination to ensure that the judiciary functions well and effectively by giving them the necessary support and cooperation.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries of the car vehicle gifts, Justice Enyinnaya Okezie, applauded the governor for the gesture and further assured that the vehicles will be put to good use.

He commended Governor Alex Otti for fulfilling his electoral promises and acknowledged him as being judiciary friendly.

According to a release, the Chief Judge of Abia State, Honorable Justice Abai, who later handed over the keys of the vehicles to the beneficiaries which included, Justice Ogbonna Adiele, Justice Chimezie Nwakanma, Justice Enyinnaya Okezie, Justice Okoronkwo and Justice Philomena Nweke.
