Provide uniforms to security operatives every six month – NNPP chieftain tells FG

A chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has advised the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu to provide uniforms to security operatives across the country every six months.

Oguntoyinbo, noted that this is necessary in order to boost their morale and encourage professionalism among the security operatives in the country.

He made these declarations in response to claims that most of the security personnel in the country are not adequately equipped with uniforms.

Oguntoyinbo, who was the gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2023 elections in Ogun state said that it is unfortunate that many security operatives are buying uniforms by themselves.

He urged Tinubu to direct the consenting authority in security sector to provide uniform dress to security personnel twice a year.

The NNPP chieftain noted that this will help in order to ensure effectiveness and smarter service delivery in security management.

Oguntoyinbo, in the statement made available to journalists on Saturday explained that provision of uniforms to security operatives twice a year will help to make them look more corporate and smart.

“The additional uniform yearly will go a long way in encouraging, strengthening and promoting professionalism in the security services.

“Providing uniform dress twice a year, no doubt will stand them out in any gathering and it is meant to further boost the morale and professionalism, pride and commitment as well as effectiveness of the security personnel.

“It will also reflects the civility and character, the peaceful nature of the security personnel, depicting commitment in defending the defenseless in the country”.
