Wike earmarks 30 Abuja communities, towns for possible demolition [See list]

A list of areas earmarked for possible demolition has found its way in the media. The list was sent out after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, threatened to demolish slums and other structures obstructing the Abuja master plan.

Wike had vowed to take down all structures defacing the original plan of the nation’s capital.

He accused business people of invading green areas in the city and turning them to shops and others.

Wike who constantly used “sorry” to portray the weight of his resolve to take action said he had gone round the city at night and had seen for himself.

He also threatened to revoke undeveloped property, alleging that the owners were keeping them to make profits from what was freely allocated to them.
