Okorocha ends battle with Uzodimma, endorses him for second term

Must read

Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, seemed to have ended battle with his successor as he endorsed the second tenure bid of Governor Hope Uzodimma in the November 11 governorship election.

This was the outcome of the meeting between Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Umar Ganduje, Uzodimma and Okorocha.

The NATION reports that the former Senator representing Imo West in the 9th Assembly described Uzodimma as a worthy party man who has promoted the progressive ideals of the party in his administration of Imo State affairs and other national assignments.

“As such, Governor Uzodimma deserves all the support he needs and I will work for his victory,” Okorocha added.

This endorsement is coming barely hours after Okorocha’s son in-law and former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2019 Imo governorship election, Uche Nwosu, endorsed Uzodimma for re-election.

Okorocha has been having a running battle with the current administration of Uzodimma with the latest being outcome of panel of inquiry headed by Prof. Vitalis Ajumbe which indicted the former Governor of forceful takeover of land belonging to Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education(AIFCE).

Submitting its report to Governor Uzodimma,  the committee recommended the recovery of the Shell camp land from Okorocha and his associates within six months for return to AIFCE.
