Ajax and Middlesbrough have agreed on a deal for Nigeria-born forward, Chuba Amechi Akpom.
Chuba, 27, was first set to join a French outfit RC Lens but the Ligue 1 outfit pulled out of the move in spite of already having an agreement in place with Middlesbrough.
Although, according to the Athletic, Ajax has now reached agreement with Boro for Akpom’s transfer.
Ajax will pay Boro $12m plus $2m add-ons.
The 27-year-old has now been given permission to travel/ to Netherlands and undergo medical.
Akpom was top scorer in the SKY Bet Championship last season with a total of 28 scores, but is yet to make an appearance for Boro this season because of injury.
