The All Progressives Congress APC in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha in his appreciation towards the ongoing Local government football competition in the State, has commended the state Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his initiatives to engage youths in the state.
Emegha said the competition is making the youths to be productive and profitable in the areas of football, stressing that the competition has a great impact on the lives of the youths.
The Chairman while interacting with journalists at the State Township Stadium, shortly after a group match between Edda and Ivo Local Government Area, disclosed that sporting activities has gone far in creating avenue in the areas of development. He also emphasized that among other sporting activities, football is another source of generating money for any organisation that values sports.
Emegha being the State Chairman of the ruling party said, he was supporting all the teams but as human nature, he would show more concern on people of his local Government Council (Edda), the defending champion to win the cup back.
He praised the enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the players and commended the organizers and match officials for the professionalism they have displayed so far, calling for it to be sustained through the duration of the competition.
