Abia monarch, King O’tuwa admonishes Southeast Governors on traditional rulers’ welfare enhancement

King O’tuwa l, a member of the Council of Traditional Rulers in Abia State and the paramount traditional ruler of Ama’ba Oboro community in Ikwuano Local Government Area, has admonished the newly swore-in states government in the southeast geo-political zone on the enhancement of welfares of the Royalty in Igbo land.

He particularly applauded Governor Alex Otti-led administration in Abia State for the ongoing reforms and welfare enhancement packages recently reeled out for the Royalty of local communities in the State.

The Igbo monarch described the recent upgrade in monthly salaries paid to monarchs from the state government as encouraging, adding that the gesture by Otti-led administration would be positively impactful.

O’tuwa who is also a Medical Scientist holds a BSc degree in computer science and BSc in computer engineering, MSc in biomedical engineering and masters of engineering in clinical engineering, spoke during an interaction with a cross section of journalists at his Ama’ba Oboro residence in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State on Friday.

O’tuwa who retired from Benjamin Russell Hospital as the first Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer of African descent and Director, Department of Computer Medicine, further used the fora to disclose that he had been able to oversee the building of good numbers of gigantic community development projects such as acquiring 17 plots of land, building school blocks, asphalting and grading/expanding of access roads linking neighboring communities, community’s donation of huge hectres of lands for expansion of building of university facilities and school blocks to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

He also said that Ama’ba community in Abia State had equally continued to experience effective security as they go to bed in nights with their two eyes closed, and wake up without being unleashed nefarious attacks and criminal invasion of private and public residences, unlike the past years the local community was sieged by gangs of armed robbers and burglars.

He said: “I prevailed on worthy sons from Ama’ba Oboro community who are in the top echelon of Nigerian security services, they invited the soldiers and the criminal elements were flushed out from the community.

“Today, Ama’ba Oboro in Ikwuanó Local Government Area is relatively calm and peaceful. And criminals of underworld have no hiding place anywhere in the community. University students residing in our area are safe without any molestations, assaults and nefarious attacks from these criminal gangsters.

“We’re able to actualize this uncommon feats because of the effective security architecture we put in place, together with our illustrious sons and daughters in and outside Niger-Area. And the community will remain resolute and undeterred towards ensuring we maintain the existing stable security networks in combating any acts of criminalities in our community.”

While further reeling out his strides in Ama’ba community, the Abia traditional ruler revealed that he planned to enforce revenue generation and collections tilted at saving adequate money for the community to be able to guarantee more erections of social developmental amenities and projects in raising the standard of livelihoods and development in Ama’ba community.
