Organised Labour may suspend planned nationwide strike

Must read

Indications have emerged that the Organised Labour might suspend its planned nationwide strike against the hardship caused by the recent fuel subsidy removal.

The strike fixed for Wednesday, August 2 was expected to shut down offices across the country.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Emma Ugbaja gave the indication at the end of the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja Tuesday.

He said though, the measures announced Monday evening by President Bola Tinubu were welcoming, still, they were not far-reaching enough.

He, however, said the Labour team would go back to the union in order to reach a consensus. It’s yet clear the position the union will take on the matter.
