The Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has admonished President Bola Tinubu on the choice of persons to serve as a members of the yet-to-be constituted federal executive council (FEC).
The party leadership advised the President not to appoint party men and women without the requisite electoral values and followership.
The party also charged Tinubu choose an Abia son or daughter with the needed capacity, ability and competence to assist government implement its numerous agendas to engender growthd in all critical sectors of Nigeria economy.
Chief Offor Okorie, the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, who was giving the admonition in a statement issued in umuahia, the Abia capital making made the party’s position known during the weekend in Umuahia, the Abia capital.
The latest position by the leadership of the opposition All Progressives Congress in Abia state, followed a wide speculations on the purported appointment and inclusion of the state factional party leader and the immediate-past gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the just-concluded 2023 elections, Mr Ikechi Emenike in a leaked papers containing names of persons nominated by President Tinubu to serve as ministers or members of federal executive council.
While further baring its minds, the Abia leadership of the APC, described the purported leaked papers naming individuals said to have been appointed by the Nigerian leader to form members of his cabinet members as fake, advising the general public to discontentance the viral fake lists, purporting names of the factional party leader, Ikechi Emenike as minister nominee representing Abia in FEC.
The party also reiterated that the state chapter is unaware of the fake lists of ministerial nominees in circulations and further urged the Abia populaces not to shift their special times and attentions to this frivilous insinuations of this kind, in respect to the awaiting release of comprehensive lists of names of worthy Nigerians who will form the cabinet members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
It partly stated: “Anybody that President Bola Tinubu will give the minister representing Abia state should be a person who has electoral value and followership,” the party reiterated.
“The President should nominate an Abian loved by the masses and has the capacity to win elections for the All Progressives Congress.
“He must equally ensure he choose an Abia indigene who has the charisma and capacity, team spirit to bring together all warring factions in Abia chapter of the APC as united family.”
