Party stalwart, Emeka Utah sets agendas for Otti-led administration in Abia

A chieftain of the Labour Party from the southeast, Chief Chukwuemeka Utah, has set an agenda for the newly-inaugurated administration in Abia State led by Governor Alex Otti.

The party stalwart also tasked the citizens with support to present state government to enable it to surmount the daunting challenges impeding the efforts to enhance critical economic sector of the state.

AFRIPOST recalls that Otti was on 29th May 2023, sworn in as 5th Governor of Abia state by the State Chief Judge, Justice Ikwuoma Duruoha-Igwe, at a well-attended inaugural ceremony which took place in State’s Township Stadium in Umuahia, the state capital.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier declared Alex Otti, a former bank chief and the Labour Party Governorship candidate as the Abia Governor-elect and winner of the concluded March 18th, 2023 gubernatorial election held across the state.

He polled a total number of polling a total of 175, 467 votes cast to beat his closest rival and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okey Ahiwe, who scored 88,529 votes to come second place.

Otti succeeds former Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu whose eight years of two terms in office elapsed on 29th May this year.

Earlier, Emeka Utah who also doubled as the Chief Executive Officer of Tarus Hotels Limited, while baring his mind during an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Umuahia, Abia State capital, tasked Governor Otti to provide adequate basic social infrastructural amenities and efficient health system to the citizens so as to improve their standards of living in Abia State.

His words: “Good road, working health system and availability of a particular political party. A working government is for the good of all.”

While also reminding citizens of the state on the enormous tasks before the present state government in rebuilding Abia against economic deficits, Chief Utah reechoed the call on the citizens to render their maximum support to Governor Alex Otti in the ongoing rebuilding of Abia for greater economic greatness and infrastructural growths by his administration.

“Let’s not destroy and pull down a government just to score cheap political points at the expense of the greater good,” the business tycoon advised.

Utah continued: “Together we can build the Abia of our dreams. Let’s make Abia work by supporting the Dr Alex Otti-led government.”
