Your supporters now controlling you, your personal opinions gone – Ahmad tells Peter Obi

A former Special Assistant on Digital Communications to ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has condemned the decision of the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi to delete his tweet that described Bola Tinubu as Mr President.

Bashir described Obi’s actions as low considering that he is no longer in control of himself and his opinion.

Obi, who condemned Tinubu’s action with regard to the 120-car convoy that welcomed him when he returned from France, had deleted the tweet afterwards. He reposted another one without referring to Tinubu as president.

The deleted tweet had said: “Allegedly showing Mr President moving with about a 120-car convoy. While I have not had the opportunity of seeing the said video, my advice remains consistent – that sacrifices for a better Nigeria must start from the leaders at all levels of government.”

Condemning his action, Bashir said because some people who referred to themselves bullied the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, he deleted the tweet. According to him, Obi no longer owns his own opinion on issues.

He said: “That was so low. I honestly pity Peter, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party; so he no longer has control over himself or an opinion of himself.

“How can you delete a well-composed tweet calling your president Mr. President just because some people claiming to be your supporters bullied and dragged you?”
