The leader of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, on Thursday, lauded the recent emergence of principal officers of the newly-inaugurated tenth national assembly.
Recall that an ex-Governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Jibrin Barau, on Tuesday, were elected and swore-in as the Senate President and the deputy President of the Nigerian Senate respectively, during a well-attended inaugural event held inside the assembly complex in Abuja.
Hon Tajudeen Abbas and the two-term current member representing Bende federal constituency of Abia state in the green chamber of the national assembly, Hon Benjamin Kalu, were also inaugurated as the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the house of representatives respectively.
Earlier, Dr Ogah, who was also a former State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while applauding the inauguration of tenth leadership of the national assembly, in a statement on Thursday, described the new principal officers of the national legislative chambers as men of immense capacity whose great antecedents are not in doubts.
He partly stated: “Distinguished Senators Godswill Obot Akpabio and Jibrin Barau are uncommon eminent personalities whose pedigree are not in doubt, even as Rt. Hon Abbas Tajudeen, and our own, Rt. Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu are sublime beacons with great antecedents. Thus, it warms the heart and titillates the brain that excellence will be the mantra of the 10th National Assembly thus bequeathing to Nigerians a formidable federal legislature.
“I and my ardent supporters are of the firm belief that his administration at national level of governance in Nigeria is peopled by seasoned professionals who will catalyze enduring progress for all Nigerians as encapsulated in the spirit and letters of our great party, the All Progressives Congress.”
While extolling the sterling leadership acumen of the new presiding officers of both national legislative chambers, Dr Ogah, a foremost industrialist, on behalf of his family and fervent supporters offered unreserved felicitations to the new leadership of the 10th national assembly on its recent inuaguration with steady prayers and goodwill that it will exceedingly succeed to the glory of the country.
