Governor Eno inspects Udom’s projects, orders demolition of illegal structures

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, is currently on a tour of ongoing projects and facilities inherited from his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel. The purpose of the tour is to assess the state of the projects and align them with Governor Eno’s vision under the Arise Agenda. During the inspection, Governor Eno ordered the demolition of structures that are hindering the completion of the projects.

Specifically, the governor directed the immediate demolition of buildings along the dualized Airport Road expansion project sites for which compensation had already been paid. This decision aims to remove obstacles and ensure the smooth progress of the projects. Governor Eno emphasized the importance of reviewing government facilities and projects after assuming office to determine their status and devise a plan for their realization based on the blueprint of his administration.

Governor Eno affirmed his commitment to completing ongoing projects and avoiding any abandonment. By thoroughly examining the projects and aligning them with his vision, he aims to ensure continuity and efficient utilization of invested resources. Accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, and other key officials, the governor visited various sites including the Administrative Block in Government House, Uyo, the Ibom E-Library along IBB Avenue, Uyo, the Wet and Dry Park at Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Centre, and the ongoing road expansion project along Airport Road, Uyo.

Additional project sites visited by Governor Eno include the Nsit Atai-Okobo road project, the 1,000-capacity Hotel at the Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Centre (ITEC), and the 21-storey Smart Building at the Udo Udoma Banking Layout, Uyo. During the inspection, Governor Eno acknowledged the significance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and expressed his intention to upgrade the Ibom E-Library to fulfill its intended purpose.

Governor Eno’s thorough inspection and commitment to project completion reflect his dedication to the development and progress of Akwa Ibom State. The order to demolish illegal structures demonstrates his determination to remove any obstacles hindering the realization of his administration’s goals.
