The Presidential Transition Council (PTC) has distanced itself from a false programme of events currently circulating on social media in preparation for the presidential inauguration on May 29. The PTC, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and chairman, Boss Mustapha, clarified that the Inauguration Sub-Committee has already made significant progress in planning for a peaceful transfer of power on May 29, 2023.
According to Willy Bassey, the Director of Information in the office of the SGF, various approved events are scheduled to hold in the week starting on May 22, 2023. Bassey further revealed that the authorized programme of events would be disclosed to the public at a World Press Conference slated for Thursday, May 18, 2023.
The SGF cautioned against the dissemination of false information by individuals who intend to deceive the unsuspecting members of the public. Mustapha urged the peddlers of such fake news to cease their actions and desist from misleading the public.
