Must read

The Enugu State office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was gutted by fire in the early hours of Friday. The fire outbreak which occurred at about 12:30 am on Friday, affected a building within the Zonal Command of the anti-graft agency.

According to the EFCC Head of Media, Wilson Uwujaren, the inferno was caused by a surge in public power supply, which led to the destruction of the building. The Enugu State and Federal Fire Services responded quickly to put out the fire.

Thankfully, no lives were lost in the incident, and the EFCC assured the public that important documents and equipment were not destroyed by the fire.

This fire outbreak is a significant setback for the EFCC, as it is expected to disrupt the agency’s operations and investigations in Enugu State.

The incident is a reminder of the importance of having effective measures to prevent and manage fire outbreaks in public buildings. It is hoped that the authorities concerned will take necessary steps to ensure the safety of public buildings in the future.

The EFCC is calling on the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities around its facilities to security agencies. The agency has also assured the public that it will continue to discharge its duties effectively despite the setback
