FCSC disowns fake 2023/2024 recruitment exercise

Must read

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has disowned a viral social media message claiming that it had opened recruitment for 2023/2024. In a press statement, the commission’s permanent secretary, Dr. Mary Ogbe, emphasized that the message was entirely fake and did not originate from the commission. She reaffirmed the commission’s earlier position that there is still an embargo on recruitment into the Federal Civil Service.

The commission described the message as an example of falsehood and pointed out that the steps and requirements listed in it were misleading and confusing. It highlighted that the recruitment process for the civil service is announced through traditional media channels, including television and newspapers, and not on social media. Additionally, the commission made it clear that the Bank Verification Number (BVN) and physical disability are not formal requirements for recruitment into the Federal Civil Service.

The commission’s statement urged the public to disregard the false information and not fall prey to the misleading tactics of the originator of the message. The FCSC has previously warned job seekers to be cautious of such messages and to rely only on official channels for information on recruitment into the civil service
