The Headquarters 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army Bauchi has announced plans to conduct a three-day shooting exercise in Shadawanka village and environs in Bauchi State. This routine training activity will involve a significant number of troops and live rounds of small arms. The annual shooting exercise is set to take place from Tuesday, April 11, to Friday, April 14, 2023, from 6:30am to 6:30pm daily at the Shadawanka Military Shooting Range in Bauchi.

According to Captain Ayorinde Amojokun, the acting assistant director of Army Public Relations, the exercise aims to enhance the proficiency of troops in the handling of firearms and to test their combat readiness. The training will also enable the troops to sharpen their skills in counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations.

While assuring the public of their safety, Captain Ayorinde Amojokun advised the general public, especially those residing in Shadawanka villages and environs, not to panic on hearing the sound of gunshots within their general area. He also urged them to stay away from the shooting range during the exercise period to avoid any potential hazards.

The Nigerian Army is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians. As such, this shooting exercise is a necessary step in maintaining the combat readiness of troops and equipping them with the skills and knowledge to respond to any potential security threats effectively.
