Imo Labour Party Guber Primary postponed to April 15

The Labour Party (LP) in Imo State has rescheduled its governorship primary elections from April 13th, 2023 to April 15th, 2023. The announcement was made by Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie, the Chairman of the Labour Party Management Committee in Imo State.

The change in date was directed by the national leadership of the party. The ward delegate elections will still hold on April 13th, 2023 to select the delegates that will vote during the primaries. The mode of election will be option A4 to ensure transparency and fairness.

In a bid to maintain transparency and fair play, Awuzie warned aspirants seeking to bribe delegates to stay clear of the process. He stated that vote buying and oath-taking will not be tolerated, and anyone found engaging in such acts will be disqualified. All aspirants will be provided with a level playing ground to ensure a free and fair election.

Imo State is a critical state to win for any political party or candidate as it is one of the states in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. With the postponement of the primary elections, aspirants now have more time to strategize and campaign to secure the party’s nomination.

The Labour Party Imo State chapter has rescheduled its governorship primary elections to April 15th, 2023, with ward delegate elections to take place on April 13th, 2023. The party’s chairman has warned against vote-buying and oath-taking and assured all aspirants of a level playing ground.
