Nasarawa PDP protests Guber election for 7 Days”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Karu local government area of Nasarawa State called for a review of the governorship election results and demanded the immediate removal of the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).

They accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of being biased in the conduct of the election. The protesters held placards with various inscriptions expressing their displeasure with the outcome of the results and urged the commission to return the mandate of the people.

The protesters called for the attention of INEC to immediately reverse its decision and return the PDP candidate, David Ombugadu, as the winner of the governorship election. They asked for a review of the results in all the polling units in the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State. Comrade Chindo Allahyayi, the leader of the group, declared the commencement of the seven-day protest to let the whole state and the nation know that their candidate is the winner.

Allahyayi condemned the rigging of the election and emphasized that it will not give a healthy society. The public relations officer of the Coalition for Ombugadu Campaign also urged the commission to reverse and review itself. The protesters called for the international community to intervene and save the country from injustice and manipulation.

The leadership of the PDP in Karu local government area accused INEC of not keeping its promise and being biased in the conduct of the governorship and House of Assembly elections. The protesters urged INEC to respect the will and rights of the people and cleanse the nation of injustice and manipulation. They emphasized that the PDP candidate won the March 18 governorship election in Nasarawa State and called for the commission to immediately return his mandate
